Optimization of Silver Micro-flakes
Fabrication for Plasmonic Applications

The project focuses on creating low-loss plasmonic materials by developing a chemical process to synthesize monocrystalline silver flakes, which are known for their smooth surfaces and defect-free structure, enhancing light-matter interactions. The student will learn colloidal synthesis, optimize flake fabrication, and use microscopy for sample analysis. Additionally, the project includes studying how surface plasmons move across these silver surfaces, combining both theoretical and potential hands-on experience.
